Submission Guidelines
Author Guidelines for Submission to the Insights-Journal of Health and Rehabilitation (IJHR)
Submission Overview
- Scope of Submissions: IJHR accepts original research articles, review papers, case studies, brief communications, and letters to the editor. All submissions must be original and not currently under review or previously published elsewhere.
Submission Process
- Electronic Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the IJHR submission portal. The corresponding author should use an existing account or create a new one to proceed with submission.
- Anonymity in Manuscripts: Prepare manuscripts without any identifying author information, which should be provided separately in the designated metadata section.
- Additional Files: Attach any necessary additional files, such as datasets or proof of payment, as part of the submission.
Language and Formatting
- Language: Submissions must be in English, using consistent British or American English conventions.
- Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman, size 12, justified text alignment, with single spacing.
- Tables and Figures: Include within the text body at the point they are first mentioned.
Manuscript Types and Requirements
- Review Article: Up to 3500 words, excluding references.
- Original Research Article: Up to 2500 words, excluding a structured abstract (up to 250 words) and references (minimum of 20).
- Case Report: Includes sections on Abstract, Introduction, Case Report, Discussion, and Conclusion.
- Short Communication: Up to 1250 words, an unstructured abstract (up to 150 words), a maximum of two tables or figures, and up to 10 references.
- Letters to the Editor: 250 words for comments on recently published articles or 400 words for general correspondence, with up to five references and one table or figure.
Title and Keywords
- Title: Should succinctly convey the study’s focus; avoid abbreviations.
- Keywords: Include 5-10, using Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) where possible.
Abbreviations and Units
- Abbreviations: Use only standard abbreviations; introduce each abbreviation with its full term at first mention. Common abbreviations may be used freely.
- Units: Use the International System of Units (SI). Mention generic drug names first, with brand names in parentheses if necessary.
Tables and Figures
- Inclusion Criteria: Include as necessary, ensuring each is comprehensible on its own.
- Legends: Provide clear legends for each table and figure, summarizing content and relevance.
- Visual Quality: Ensure high-quality, editable visuals; obtain permission for any reused material.
References
- Style: Follow the Vancouver referencing style.
- Sequencing: Number references consecutively as they appear in the text.
- Author Listing: For works with up to six authors, list all names; for more than six, list the first six followed by 'et al.'
- Journal Abbreviations: Use abbreviations according to the Index Medicus/Medline/PubMed/NLM Catalogue standards.
